We look forward to meeting you at your venue, but till then here’s a real brief bit of background to ourselves as managers;
Operations Manager & Bar/Security Consultant: Gemma Churchill.
Gemma Churchill has worked in the Licensed Retail Trade for over 15 years, and the Private Security Industry for 12. Having been in managerial and supervisor positions in Pubs, Venues and Clubs, Gemma knows exactly what is expected from a Door Supervision/Security Provider, and she supplies above and beyond what is expected!
Since starting work in the “Harbour Lights” of Cowes at the age of 16 Gemma worked her way up to assistant manager. Leaving this position to further challenge herself she went on to manage / run pubs in Eastliegh, the New Forest, Oxford and South East London. In this time Gemma was a relief manager for the pub chains “Whitbread” and “Green King”. For the last 12 years Gemma has also worked many venues across the Isle of Wight, Hampshire & Sussex as a door supervisor, including 6 years at the very popular nightclub “Colonel Bogey’s” as their female member of door staff. Whilst working as a door supervisor she has also worked events such as “Cowes Week” and festivals such as “Bestival” & “I.W. Festival”. This has all included roles from searching / entry, response teams, crowd control, head door supervisor role, as well as being a key member of a very effective ‘clean-up’ team which help install and uphold licensing objectives in venues with issues with regards to drunkenness, drugs or violence / disorder.
In conclusion Gemma brings a unique view and set of skills and knowledge to Etiquette Security U.K. She brings a female perspective to door supervision, which is in general overlooked element. And along with her experiences of managing pubs she knows what managers / owners expectations are of their work force. This helps us provide the service you the customer wants and expects.
Development Manager & Training/Security Consultant: Benji Churchill.
Having been in the Private Security Industry for over 8 years, and providing Door Supervisors, Close Protection & Security for 4 years.. There isn’t many Managers with more experience actually ‘on the door’! Having worked Monday – Sunday most weeks on all kinds of Venues (over 200!) right across the South of England, Benji knows the unique way each venue/situation requires Door Supervision & Security. Benji is also the Senior Tutor at Etiquette Training U.K. and is Etiquette Security U.K.s In-House Tutor.
I have been working ‘The Door’ for 8 years, and instructing courses for 4. I have worked 6-7 day weeks on venues right across the south, and on a wide variety of different establishments, from Take-Aways to Wine Bars, ‘Locals’ Pubs to Casinos, Hotel’s to Exotic Dance Venues, and Private Member Establishments to 4000+ capacity/multi-million £ Nightclubs I have gained vast experience across all types of venues right across the country. Starting out as your ordinary / average door supervisor progressing up through various roles including entry, searching, Q management, response team, head of internal security, head door supervisor, and to being in charge of a ‘trouble shooting’ team sorting out problem venues for major door supervisor agencies.
Whether it be under-age drinking, drug use or violence and disorder. Due to the success of my methods of working myself & my partner decided to break-away from the large companies that we had been sub-contracted into help and start own company where all the door staff are of the highest standard, representing “Etiquette Security U.K.” rather than one of these national companies and them taking the credit. Basically we realised that there is a demand for high quality door supervision and we provide it!
Lastly, having worked across the country in over 200+ venues, experiencing many situations, I and my partner have dedicated ourselves to our work & training and are proud of the quality we provide and hope to be putting something back into the private security industry and giving customers that want door supervisors/venue security the service they deserve!
